DISCOVER THE DEAD SEA SCROLLS

The oldest surviving text of the Old Testament comes to live in VR as we take you through the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibits in The Shrine of the Book museum. Approximately two thousand years old, most of the scrolls are written in Hebrew (some in Aramaic and Greek).

They contain the earliest biblical commentary of the time and comparing it with the current Bible gives us confidence in the reliability of the Old Testament, the world of Israel into which Jesus came.

Before the Dead Sea Scrolls, the oldest manuscripts of the Hebrew Scriptures were copies from the 9th and 10th century. Now we have manuscripts about a thousand years older than those. Amazingly, the manuscripts are almost identical.

By looking at the Dead Sea Scrolls, one can be reminded that the words given by prophets such as Moses and David are faithfully represented throughout time.
